| All about california history |
| 10.23.05 (6:39 pm) [edit] |
All about California history is very romantic and is filled with many interesting stories. The region was named for a fiction island by the Amazons. At first, “California” referred to the peninsula on the western side of Mexico now known as Baja California. The Spaniards were under the impression that they had found an island. When they ventured inland, they understood that “California” extended north into the continent and they called this extension “Alta California”, encompassing the region that is currently the 31st state of the United States of America. All about California history is very unique.
The earliest Californians were Asians who made their way here very adventurously across the Bering Straits to Alaska many thousands of years ago when the climate was warmer and the land bridge that existed at that time made crossover easy. These groups of men and women and their descendents spread all over North and South America forming many nations and tribes. The first Europeans who came here called them “Indians”. The Pacific Coast segregated them from the cultures that were developing on the other side of Mexico and the Western United States. It is for this reason the early population of California had no physical resemblance to the Native Americans of the Great Plains. All about California history is out of a folk story setting.
